Webcam test
See the live picture from your camera to check that it works. Choose another camera, see the real resolution and frame rate, and try which sizes the camera accepts, before an online meeting or before you buy. It runs in your browser, and the picture is not sent anywhere.

How to use
- Press "Start the camera test". The browser asks whether to allow the camera: choose "Allow". The live picture appears.
- If you have several cameras, choose one from the Camera list. To ask for a particular size or frame rate, choose it and see what the camera really gives in the table below.
- The yellow line under the picture tells you if the picture is too dark or too bright.
- Press "Check which sizes the camera accepts" to try the usual sizes one by one (320×240 up to 4K) and see which ones the camera takes.
- Press "Stop" when you are done. The camera is switched off and its status light goes out.
Nothing leaves your device
The picture from the camera is shown on this page only. It is not uploaded to freesabai's server or anyone else's, it is not saved, and it is gone when you close the page. A still you choose to save is made and downloaded on your own device. We ask for the camera only when you press Start, and switch it off when you press Stop or leave the page. The website only counts how many times this page is opened and how many times a result is saved (it never sends a file name, size or content, and you can switch the counting off at the foot of the page; see the privacy policy).
Good to know
- The picture is mirrored by default, because that looks natural. Switch it off with "Mirror view". Most online meetings send the picture the right way round.
- The size and frame rate you ask for are what you would like: the camera may give something close. The table below shows what it really gives. The measured frame rate drops in dim light (the camera exposes for longer) or when the computer is busy.
- The biggest size the camera reports comes from its driver, and some cameras report more than they can do at every frame rate. "Check which sizes the camera accepts" is clearer.
- If there is no picture, or it freezes, try another camera, close programs that use the camera (Zoom, Teams, LINE, a camera app), and check that a laptop's camera cover or privacy switch is not closed.
- If the browser does not ask, or says it is blocked, click the lock icon beside the address and allow the camera. On Windows and Mac the system privacy settings must also let the browser use the camera.
- On a phone, camera names appear only after you allow it first. Choose the front or back camera from the list. An iPhone needs a recent Safari or Chrome.
