Secret Santa generator
Run a gift exchange draw without paper slips. Enter the names and get who gives to whom at once. Nobody draws their own name, you can keep couples apart, and each person can reveal only their own match.
Getting the tool ready…This tool needs JavaScript. If this message stays for more than a few seconds, JavaScript is turned off or the page did not load completely. Turn JavaScript on or reload the page.
Names and results are not kept in your browser and are gone when you close the page. Copy the result before closing.
How to use it
- Enter everyone taking part, one per line. Names must differ; add a surname or nickname where two are the same.
- If some people should not draw each other, such as a couple or siblings, put them in "Must not draw each other", one pair per line. Three names on one line keeps all three apart.
- Press "Draw". If everyone shares one screen but it should stay secret, choose "Reveal one at a time" and pass the device round: each person presses their own name, looks, and presses again to hide.
How the draw works
The names are shuffled with your browser's cryptographic random generator, then each person gives to the next one round a single circle. So nobody gets themselves, everyone gives one gift and gets one, and there are no little two-person swaps (unless there are only two of you). With pairs to keep apart, it searches for an order where no such pair sits side by side; if none exists it says so plainly instead of trying forever.
For a plain prize draw, use the random name picker, or spin the wheel for the whole party to watch.
Good to know
- Nothing is kept: closing or reloading the page loses the result, and drawing again gives all new pairs. In reveal mode, keep the page open until everyone has looked.
- Results are not sent to anyone by email or message; the site sends nothing off your device.
- Whoever holds the device in reveal mode could peek at others. It works on trust.
Your names stay on your device
Everything runs in your browser. Names and pairs are not uploaded anywhere and not stored in the browser. The site only counts that the page was opened and that a result was made, never the names (you can turn counting off at the bottom of the site; see the privacy policy).

Questions and answers
Can someone draw themselves?
No. The list is shuffled and joined into one circle where everyone gives to the next person, so nobody gets themselves and everyone gives once and receives once.
How do I stop couples drawing each other?
Add them under pairs to avoid, one pair per line separated by a comma. Neither will give to the other. If the rules make a draw impossible, the tool says so.
Can each person see only their own match?
Yes. Use one-at-a-time mode: pass the device around, each person taps their name to see who they give to, then hides it before passing it on.
