Typing test
Measure how fast and how accurately you type, in English or Thai. Copy a text drawn from everyday words; the clock starts at your first key, mistakes turn red at once, and at the end you get words per minute (WPM) and your accuracy.

How to use it
- Choose the language and the length. The text is drawn from everyday words (not real sentences, so it measures typing, not memory).
- Type it into the box. The clock starts at your first key. Right characters turn green, wrong ones red, and the next one is underlined. Delete a slip and retype it: the test ends only when everything is right.
- The score shows as soon as the text is done, or press "Stop and score" to stop early. "New text" or Esc gives another go.
How words per minute are counted
The usual standard: one word is five characters, and only characters typed right count (net WPM). That is why Thai, which has no spaces between words, is measured the same way; Thai vowels and tone marks count as characters because each is a key press. Characters per minute (CPM) is the same figure before dividing by five. A typical adult types English at about 40 WPM and a trained typist at 60 to 80; Thai usually comes out slower because of the many Shift presses.

Good to know
- Nothing is kept or sent anywhere; close the page and the result is gone. Note your scores down if you want to watch them improve.
- The time comes from your device's clock, so switching tabs and coming back does not stop it.
- It works on a phone, but the speed is not comparable to a real keyboard, and a phone's autocorrect may change words: turn it off for a true measure.

Questions and answers
How are words per minute counted for Thai?
By the usual standard: one word is five characters, and only right characters count. Thai vowels and tone marks are characters because each is a key press, so Thai without spaces is measured like English.
What happens when I make a mistake?
The wrong character turns red; delete it and retype. The test ends only when everything is right. Accuracy counts every key pressed, and wrong characters do not add to speed. "Stop and score" ends it early.
What is a good typing speed?
A typical adult types English at about 40 WPM and a trained typist at 60 to 80. Thai is usually slower because of the Shift presses. Scores are not kept; note them down to watch your progress.
