Time zone converter

Enter a date and time in one place and see the same moment in every other place in one table: how many hours ahead or behind each is, and whether it falls on the next day. Daylight saving in Europe, America, Australia and New Zealand is worked out for the date you choose.

Getting the tool ready…This tool needs JavaScript. If this note stays for more than a few seconds, JavaScript is off in your browser or the page did not finish loading: turn JavaScript on or reload the page.

How to use it

  1. Choose where the time you know belongs (your own zone is picked when the page opens), then enter the date and the time. "Now" fills in the current moment.
  2. The table shows that moment in every zone, west to east, with the starting place highlighted. It says how many hours ahead or behind each place is, and marks a time that falls on the next day or the day before.
  3. Know the time abroad and want it in Thailand? Pick that place as the start and read the Bangkok row.

How it is worked out

Europe, North America, south-east Australia and New Zealand move their clocks an hour with the seasons, so London is six hours behind Thailand in summer and seven in winter. The tool works it out for the date you enter from the browser's own time-zone data. Thailand, Japan, China, Singapore and India keep one time all year. For countries with several zones (the United States, Australia, Russia) choose the nearest city.

Count the days to an appointment with the date calculator, or set a countdown timer.

Questions and answers

How do I compare Thai time with another country?

Pick Bangkok as the start, enter the date and time, and the table shows that moment everywhere with the hours ahead or behind and whether it is the next day. Know a time abroad? Pick that place as the start.

Why is London sometimes 6 hours behind Thailand and sometimes 7?

Daylight saving: Europe, America and Australia move their clocks an hour with the seasons. The tool works it out for the date you enter from the browser's time-zone data. Thailand keeps one time all year.

Where does the time-zone data come from, and is anything sent?

From your own browser (Intl). Everything runs on your device and nothing is sent anywhere. The starting zone when the page opens comes from your device settings, when it is in the list.
