Text and JSON diff checker
Paste two texts and see what changed: which lines were added, removed or edited, with the changed words highlighted inside an edited line (Thai words too). View it side by side or unified, or use JSON mode, which ignores key order and spacing. It runs in your browser and your text is not sent anywhere.
This tool needs JavaScript. If you still see this after a few seconds, JavaScript is switched off in your browser or the page did not load completely: turn JavaScript on or reload the page.
How to use it
- Paste the old text in box A and the new text in box B (or open files). The comparison appears at once.
- Choose "Side by side" or "Unified", and options such as "Ignore whitespace".
- To compare JSON, choose JSON mode: both sides are written the same way and the keys are sorted first, so only real differences show.
Frequently asked questions
I compare two JSON texts whose keys are in a different order and it says everything differs
Use JSON mode. Both sides are read as JSON, written the same way (2-space indent) and the keys are sorted (ticked by default) before comparing, so key order and spacing are not counted as differences. If one side is not valid JSON you are told which side, and where.
What do the green and red mean?
Red is a line (or word) that is only in text A. Green is what is only in B. An edited line appears as a pair, and the words that changed are highlighted more strongly.
Can it compare files of tens of thousands of lines?
Yes. The comparing runs in a background worker so the page does not freeze, and unchanged lines are hidden (press to show them). If the two files differ almost everywhere, the tool shows everything as removed and then added, and says so, rather than run too long.
Good to know
- "Copy as a diff" gives text in the unified diff format that tools such as
git applyandpatchread (one line per line, starting with +, - or a space). - The comparison is line by line. The word highlighting is done only for edited lines that still share some of their text.
- Windows line endings (CRLF) and Mac/Linux ones (LF) count as the same.
Your data stays on your device
Everything runs in your browser. What you type, paste or open is not sent to freesabai's servers or anyone else's, and is not kept in the browser: close the page and it is gone. The site only counts how many times this page was opened and how many times someone copied or saved a result (never what was pasted or the result, and you can switch the counting off in the footer; see the privacy policy).
