Password generator
Make strong random passwords. Choose the length and the kinds of character (lower case, upper case, digits, symbols) and see the strength in bits. They are made on your device with the browser's secure random numbers. The passwords are not sent anywhere or kept, and are gone when you close the page.
This tool needs JavaScript. If you still see this after a few seconds, JavaScript is switched off in your browser or the page did not load completely: turn JavaScript on or reload the page.
How to use it
- Choose the length and the kinds of character. Passwords appear at once. Press "Make new ones" for a new set.
- If you must type a password by hand, tick "Leave out look-alikes" so there is no I l 1 O 0 o to confuse.
- Press "Copy" on the password you want, then store it in your password manager.
Frequently asked questions
How safe are the passwords made here?
They are made with crypto.getRandomValues, the browser's cryptographic random source, not Math.random, and each character is chosen without bias. They are not sent from your device and are not kept. Real safety also depends on how you store and use them: keep them in a password manager and do not reuse one on several sites.
How long should it be, and what are bits of strength?
Bits say roughly how many guesses it would take (2 to the power of the bits). Under 60 bits is not enough for an important account; from 80 bits it counts as strong. A 16-character password using lower case, upper case and digits has about 95 bits. Length matters more than odd symbols.
Why does it include every kind I chose?
Some sites insist on at least one upper-case letter, one lower-case letter and one digit. So the tool guarantees one of every kind chosen, then shuffles the positions without bias. That rule lowers the strength by a very small amount.
Good to know
- Passwords are not kept in the browser. Close or refresh the page and they are gone, so copy the one you want first.
- Some sites refuse certain symbols. If one is refused, untick symbols or set the symbols to use yourself.
- This tool makes random characters, not memorable phrases. For a password you must remember, use a long passphrase of your own.
Your data stays on your device
Everything runs in your browser. What you type, paste or open is not sent to freesabai's servers or anyone else's, and is not kept in the browser: close the page and it is gone. The site only counts how many times this page was opened and how many times someone copied or saved a result (never what was pasted or the result, and you can switch the counting off in the footer; see the privacy policy).
