Number to Thai words (baht text)

Enter numbers one to a line and get them in Thai words: as an amount of baht and satang (as written on cheques and receipts), as a plain number, or digit by digit like a phone number. เอ็ด, ยี่, ล้าน and big numbers are written correctly. It runs in your browser and the text is not sent anywhere.

  2. Choose an amount of money, a number, or digit by digit. The answers show at once, line for line.
  3. Press "Copy" or "Download" to take the result.

Frequently asked questions

How is an amount written in words on a cheque or receipt in Thailand?

In baht and satang, closed with "ถ้วน" ("exactly") when there are no satang: 1,500 is "หนึ่งพันห้าร้อยบาทถ้วน" and 1,500.25 is "หนึ่งพันห้าร้อยบาทยี่สิบห้าสตางค์". This tool writes it the way Excel's BAHTTEXT function does, with the same code as the invoice maker of this site.

When are เอ็ด and ยี่ used?

A final 1 is read "เอ็ด" when there is another digit before it: 11 is สิบเอ็ด, 21 is ยี่สิบเอ็ด, 101 is หนึ่งร้อยเอ็ด, 1,000,001 is หนึ่งล้านเอ็ด. "ยี่" stands for two in the tens place: 20 is ยี่สิบ, but 2 is สอง. The tool does this for you.

How big can the number be, and what happens to more than two decimals?

Up to 1,000 digits: 1,000,000,000,000 is หนึ่งล้านล้าน. In the baht mode, more than two decimals are rounded to satang (up when the third decimal is 5 or more), and the tool says how many lines were rounded.

Your data stays on your device

Everything runs in your browser. What you type, paste or open is not sent to freesabai's servers or anyone else's, and is not kept in the browser: close the page and it is gone. The site only counts how many times this page was opened and how many times someone copied or saved a result (never what was pasted or the result, and you can switch the counting off in the footer; see the privacy policy).
