How to convert a PDF to Word
- Choose a PDF, or drop it on the box.
- Press "Convert and save as .docx".
- Open the file in Word, Google Docs or LibreOffice and check it.
Your files stay on your device
This tool opens the file from your device, reads the text and builds the Word file in your browser, and saves it back to your device. Nothing is uploaded and no file is kept.
Good to know
- You get the text, not the original look. Fonts, colours, tables, pictures and layout do not come along. The Word file is plain headings, paragraphs and lists, a page break where each PDF page ended. Headings and lists are guessed from the size of the text and the marks in front of lines.
- If you need it to look exactly the same, a tool in the browser cannot do that well enough: try PDF to PowerPoint (as pictures), or open the original Word file if you have it.
- A scanned file made of pictures has no text to take: run OCR first.
- A file locked with a password must be unlocked first.
