BMP and TIFF converter

Convert TIFF and BMP files to PNG, JPG or WebP that open anywhere, and pictures back to 24-bit BMP or TIFF (no compression or LZW) for the software or device that wants them. In a many-page TIFF, choose the page to convert. It runs in your browser and the files are sent nowhere.

Getting the tool ready…This tool needs JavaScript. If you still see this after a few seconds, JavaScript is switched off in your browser or the page did not load completely: turn JavaScript on or reload the page.

How to use it

  1. Choose or drop a file. For a many-page TIFF (such as a scanned document), choose the page to convert.
  2. Choose the format: PNG keeps every pixel, JPG is small for photos, WebP is smaller than JPG, and BMP or TIFF for software that wants them.
  3. Press "Convert and save": the new file keeps the name with the new extension.

Good to know

Your files stay on your device

Everything runs in your browser. The files are not sent to freesabai's servers or anyone else's, and nothing is kept in the browser: close the page and it is all gone. The site only counts that this page was opened and how many times a result was saved (no file names or contents, and you can turn counting off at the foot of the site; see the privacy policy).

Questions and answers

Why does some TIFF not open?

TIFF comes in many kinds. This tool reads no compression, PackBits, LZW and Deflate; JPEG-compressed, fax (CCITT) and CMYK TIFFs are not supported yet, and it tells you which one it is.

Can it convert a many-page TIFF?

One page at a time. A many-page file shows a page list: convert and save one, then choose the next straight away without opening the file again.

Should I pick LZW or no compression for TIFF?

LZW gives a smaller file with no loss and most software opens it. Pick no compression when the software or device is very old or asks for uncompressed TIFF.
