Create a ZIP

Put many files or whole folders into one ZIP, compressed to save space, with an AES-256 password if you want one. Names in Thai or any language stay readable wherever the ZIP is opened. In your browser; the files are not sent anywhere.

Getting the tool ready…This tool needs JavaScript. If you still see this after a few seconds, JavaScript is switched off in your browser or the page did not load completely: turn JavaScript on or reload the page.

How to use it

  1. Press "Choose files" (several at once), "Choose a whole folder", or drop files and folders on the box. The folders inside are kept as they are.
  2. Name the ZIP and choose compressed or stored. For a password, type it in both boxes.
  3. Press "Make and save the ZIP" and it is saved to your device.

Good to know

Your files stay on your device

Everything runs in your browser. The files and the password are not sent to freesabai's server or anyone else's, and nothing is kept in the browser: close the page and it is gone. The site only counts that this page was opened and how many times a result was saved (never the file name or content; you can turn counting off at the bottom of the site, see the privacy policy).

Questions and answers

How do I make a password-protected ZIP?

Choose files or a folder, type the password twice and press Make ZIP. The files are encrypted with AES-256, far safer than the old ZipCrypto.

Why can Windows not open my password ZIP?

The ZIP opener built into Windows does not support AES. Open it with 7-Zip or WinRAR (both free to open with), or Keka or The Unarchiver on a Mac. ZIPs without a password open everywhere.

How big can the ZIP be?

Over 4 GB or more than 65,535 files works (ZIP64 is used by itself), but the browser holds the files in memory, so above about 2 GB it may run out, phones especially.
