Make an animated GIF from images

Put several pictures together into an animated GIF: set their order, the delay of each frame, the size and how many times it plays, and preview it before saving. You can open an existing GIF to reuse its frames too. It runs in your browser and the files are sent nowhere.

Getting the tool ready…This tool needs JavaScript. If you still see this after a few seconds, JavaScript is switched off in your browser or the page did not load completely: turn JavaScript on or reload the page.

How to use it

  1. Choose or drop pictures (JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP); add more any time. A GIF gives all its frames with their delays.
  2. Order them with ↑ ↓ or by dragging a row. Set each frame's delay, or type one value and press "Use this delay for every frame".
  3. Choose the size, the plays and the colours, press "Make the GIF", watch the preview (played from the real file), then "Save the GIF".

Good to know

Your files stay on your device

Everything runs in your browser (with many frames, the heavy work runs in another thread of the browser, still on your device). The pictures and the GIF made are not sent to freesabai's servers or anyone else's, and nothing is kept in the browser: close the page and it is all gone. The site only counts that this page was opened and how many times a result was saved (no file names or contents, and you can turn counting off at the foot of the site; see the privacy policy).

Questions and answers

Why do the colours of the GIF differ from my pictures?

A GIF holds at most 256 colours a frame, so photos must lose some. Dithering and a palette per frame give colours closest to the originals.

How do I make the GIF smaller?

Choose a smaller longest side, fewer frames, no dithering and one palette for all. The size matters most: 320 px is about four times smaller than 640 px.

How many pictures, and can they differ in size?

Up to 300 frames, of any sizes. The GIF takes the shape of the first picture; the others are fitted in the middle, the empty space transparent, white or black.
